Following up on the question from yesterday (What secret was Kit keeping?) :
Last sentence read: "The Kit saw Captain Eaton approaching and knew that the moment had come when the truth would have to be told." What changes to your prediction from yesterday will you make?

Writing

Today we reviewed 2 types of sentences: simple and compound.
We spent most of the afternoon teaching the next level of writing for the Today I learned activity.
Each entry must tell the class in which learning was achieved; the actual information or skill that was learned; some details about what was learned; why "what was learned" is important now and also in the future.
Examples of this development were completed in class on the e-board while students took notes.
Each student chose something that was taught today or previously and used that for guided practice. Students brought their "completed" writing to the teacher for evaluation and help with improving the work.

Social Studies

Worked on the hand-drawn map from yesterday. Students must find a way to show the close-up detail of the Connecticut River to include Saybrook and Wethersfield along the river. Wethersfield is 43 miles up the river, but that means one-tenth of an inch using the scale for the whole map, which doesn't make it possible to show the detail needed.
